A sealed KeySigned record: a navy plate reading Locked, DEMO 001, Demonstration record, not evidence of any real vehicle, a record hash, and Checked, the files on this iPhone match the seal
Demonstration record.

What to check

Wash first, because dirt hides defects, then inspect in good, even light.

  • Swirls, holograms, scratches, and stone chips on the bonnet, bumper and mirrors.
  • Kerbed alloys, trim, badges, glass and lights.
  • Previous paint repairs, such as overspray or a colour that doesn't quite match.
  • Interior stains, wear and odours.
  • Anything your customer is worried about. Ask them.
  • If there is nothing to note, record "No visible damage".

The pre-inspection form

An A4 form for detailing, PPF and wrap jobs, covering paint condition, paint depth readings, the customer's concerns and both signatures. It is free to download, with no sign-up.

How it works

Demonstration record, shortened. The car and some screens are illustrations.

  1. The walk-round

You and your customer walk round the car together. KeySigned guides you to eight photos, one from each angle, and checks each for focus, light and framing. You mark any existing damage on the photos of that car and add a close-up.

  2. Two signatures

You sign, then hand the iPhone to your customer, who signs the same version of the record. Any change after signing needs fresh signatures from you both.

  3. The seal

KeySigned seals the record with a key held on your iPhone. Any later change to a photo, mark or signature shows when the record is checked. Your customer gets the record page and the .zip evidence pack, and checks the .zip in an up-to-date browser at keysigned.app/verify. Records stay on your iPhone and aren't backed up, so export the ones you need.

Each opens the checker with a demonstration record. Nothing is uploaded.

What disputes cost you now

£250 a year, on these figures.

Your own figures, not a promise of what KeySigned saves. They stay in your browser.

Multiply the two figures together.

Handovers in progress
Without an active plan, you can still finish, sign and seal a handover within 48 hours of starting it. After that, it needs a plan to sign and seal, and it waits on your iPhone until then.
Return legs
The return leg of a car you've already collected is never charged.
Your records
Records you've already sealed stay readable, checkable and exportable whatever happens to your plan.

Questions

Do I need the customer there?

Yes. You walk round the car together and both sign the same record, so its condition is agreed before work starts.

What does my customer receive?

The record page and the .zip evidence pack, by WhatsApp, email, iMessage or AirDrop. The signed PDF is inside the pack, and you can send it on its own too. With the evidence pack they can check the record in an up-to-date browser, with no account and nothing uploaded.

What happens at collection?

Check the car against the same record, with your customer. KeySigned puts the return photos beside the drop-off ones, side by side, so you can both see whether anything is new.
